I have always been obsessed with the aesthetics of life, pictures, nature, literature, and music. I'm constantly pushing my creativity to new heights. I'm a painter, poet, seamstress, designer, barber, healer, and believer. I'm eclectic, expressive, and focused on both the process and the outcome.
I love to observe the world around me -- the way people live, walk, talk, cook, express themselves, and interact. I'm drawn to nature, especially waterfalls and night skies. Moon gazing is my guilty pleasure. I'm shy, so I express myself through my writing and drawings. I love to read all kinds of literature and hope to publish my own stories one day.
My mission is to help others discover their inner artist and the boundless creativity that surrounds them -- to teach them how to use art as a positive outlet for coping with and expressing life's challenges. I dream of one day opening art studios and schools in low-income communities.
I started drawing and painting at a young age where I had dreams of creating coloring and children's books. When I was in 3rd grade, I started selling my own coloring sheets, my main customers being my grandparents and the landlord. As I grew up, I took art related electives including: pottery, music history, art history, photography, theory and I was also in the yearbook club. It was during my time on the yearbook club that I learned and fell in love with graphic design, so I started taking graphic and web design classes in high school. My high school yearbook teacher was the first one to give me a photoshop cd and that is when I started designing and selling holiday cards.
I have been blessed to be surrounded by art within my family. My dad makes jewelry and is a tattoo and body piercing artist. My mom made body lotions and loved to color. My grandma was a great baker and she taught me how to sew. And my grandfather, an avid reader, movie bluff, and music lover. Being raised by all of them in the same home, I ended up soaking in all of their talents and hobbies. I have used these talents and hobbies to express myself over the years.
Many times I felt discouraged and I closed down shop over and over again. But I am here with a new found light and a new found hustle, a renewed love for who I am and what I was gifted with, and I am ready to share it with you, again.
I hope to encourage others to awaken their inner artist and share their creativity as well. Art surrounds us. Let art speak for you.
